Open Role

Fulfillment & Inventory Specialist (In-Person)

Part-time to Full-Time • Seattle, WA
Monday–Friday, daytime hours - SODO Neighborhood

Crescent Down Works is a small, Seattle-based heritage outerwear brand crafting down garments by hand since 1974. Our team is truly small — three people on the business side plus our amazing sewing team — and we’re looking for a reliable, detail-oriented person to help keep our fulfillment, customer service, inventory, and day-to-day operations running smoothly.

This role is hands-on and varied: you’ll pack orders, communicate with customers, book in finished goods from the sewing floor, receive materials, support wholesale shipments, and help maintain inventory accuracy across the company. Because we’re a small team, everyone wears multiple hats, communicates closely, and contributes meaningfully to the flow of our production and customer experience.

We anticipate starting this role as a part-time position for the first three months, with the intention of transitioning to full-time afterward. We are flexible depending on the candidate and situation and are open to discussing what structure makes the most sense for the right person.

What You’ll Do

  • Pack and ship customer orders with care and attention to presentation
  • Communicate with customers in a warm, clear, professional tone
  • Receive and log finished garments from the sewing floor
  • Receive materials and help organize inventory
  • Support wholesale shipments and documentation
  • Help maintain accurate inventory across systems

Workdays include a mix of structured, repeatable tasks and real-time problem solving. Because we are a small team that shares ideas across the company, you may occasionally be pulled into early conversations by the design team about color preferences, design details, product layout or photography, and visual presentation choices.

You don’t need to be a designer — but if you have a good visual sense or enjoy creative problem solving, you will thrive here.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented
  • Strong, clear written communication skills using warmth and professionalism
  • Comfortable switching between tasks and changing priorities
  • Calm under ambiguity — able to pause, assess, and ask good questions
  • Enjoys checklists but understands when flexibility is needed
  • Pride in high-quality packing, presentation, and visual details
  • Comfortable using computers and learning new software and digital tools

Nice to have (not required):

  • Experience with ecommerce (Shopify), fulfillment, or inventory systems
  • Interest in apparel, manufacturing, or handmade goods
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite
  • An eye for color, materials, or design

What This Role Is — and Isn’t

This role is:

  • Hands-on and operational
  • Collaborative and detail-driven
  • A mix of structure and independent problem solving

This role is not:

  • A purely administrative desk job
  • A purely creative role
  • A rigid, narrowly defined position

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. (with or without reasonable accommodation)
  • Ability to navigate stairs (no elevator access)
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive motions
  • Ability to visually identify product details such as size, color, and labels

Reasonable accommodations will be considered.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly pay of $21.30–$25.00/hour (equivalent to $44,304–$52,000 annually at full-time), depending on experience
  • Paid vacation time
  • Simple IRA retirement plan available after one year
  • Opportunity to grow within a small, hands-on team and gain exposure to multiple areas of the business

How to Apply

Please email us at info@crescentdownworks.com.

Your cover letter and resume should be attached to the email (not included in the body). We will only review applications that include both.

You are welcome to use AI tools to help organize your thoughts, but your final application should be reviewed and edited by you. We are looking for clear, specific, human answers rather than generic application language.
In your cover letter, in addition to why you'd like to work at Crescent Down Works, please include one brief example of a time you caught a small mistake, clarified confusing information, or improved a routine process. Tell us what you noticed, what you did, and why it mattered.

In your initial email, please include:

  • Your name
  • Contact email
  • Availability for interviews
  • Home address

This role will remain open until filled, and the posting will be removed once the position has been filled.

Crescent Down Works is guided by craftsmanship, honesty, and care — in both our products and our workplace. In a small business, every role matters, and collaboration is essential.

This role is especially well-suited for someone who enjoys understanding systems, keeping things organized, and helping a small team function smoothly. If you enjoy hands-on work, appreciate beautifully made things, and want to contribute meaningfully to a small Seattle-based company, we’d love to meet you.
